My name is Kenneth. My grandmother is Crescenciana. Together, we’re The Lola x Kenneth Collaboration.

In 2014, I left my job and moved home to help care for my Lola (“Grandma” in Tagalog). One day, we were at the kitchen table and I asked Lola what she wanted to do. She said, “Something that is for a purpose.” Neither of us were artists, but we started painting together. Lola starts each piece in watercolor. After they dry, I add drawings or illustrations to her paintings based on my conversations with Lola, her memories, or how she was feeling on a particular day.

Lola passed in December 2016. She left me with her stories. She left me with her paintings. She left me with a purpose. I promise to finish everything she started.
