Rowena Federico Finn was born and raised in Virginia. Her father is from Iloilo and came to the US after joining the Navy as a young man. Her mother is from Manila, and both parents worked for many years for the US government before retiring and moving back to the Philippines. She has always held a deep appreciation for attention to detail and technical excellence. Her paintings are greatly influenced by traditional art and scientific botanical illustration. After focusing on raising her family for many years, Rowena returned to art and began teaching private art classes in 2012, with a specialization in academic drawing. In 2018 she joined the Governor’s School for the Arts faculty, and in 2019 became a resident artist at the D'Art Center in Norfolk, Virginia, where she also teaches private lessons and group classes. Rowena currently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia with her husband and three children.
