Jose Johann Bitancor is a painter and graphic designer with a BFA in Fine Arts from Far Eastern University in the Philippines. Prior to his migration to the United States, his creative work was devoted entirely to the applied arts, particularly exhibition design and collateral design. Bitancor also studied at the University of Memphis in Tennessee, where his inclination to work with hands and play with materials led to experiments in woodcarving and wire sculptures. His works now include textural abstractions based on experiences in his everyday life.

Bitancor has exhibited his works in various galleries and museums in the Philippines and the United States including the UP Vargas Museum (PH), BenCab Museum (PH), Rochester Contemporary Art Center (NY), Bliss on Bliss Art Projects (NY), and Germantown Performing Arts Centre (TN), among others.
